Port Land

The Corporation manages the fastest-growing container port in Australia, and is responsible for the development and management of a range of land uses across a diverse land portfolio including: industrial, transport operations, retail/commercial, office parks, emerging residential communities and boat harbour developments. The Corporation aspires to lead Australia's ports in land use planning, and has a strong sustainable development philosophy which emanates from the Corporation’s vision:

‘To be Australian’s leading port: here for the future’.

Under the Integrated Planning Act 1997, the Corporation is the ‘Assessment Manager’ for development on strategic port land. The Corporation's Port of Brisbane Land Use Plan (Adobe pdf 0.8MB) identifies appropriate land uses in various precincts and defines the economically, environmentally and socially acceptable outcomes for future development on strategic port land. The Port of Brisbane Corporation's Development Code (Adobe pdf 6.6MB) should be read in conjunction with the Land Use Plan as it guides the physical form and operational aspects of development.

The Corporation also manages the Port of Bundaberg. Click here for more information regarding land use planning issues relating to the Port of Bundaberg.
