Boat Harbours

Manly

Introduction

The Manly Boat Harbour is the largest recreational boat harbour (1,450 vessels) on the eastern seaboard. It comprises public pile moorings, boat ramps and jetties, and recreational marina and slipway facilities.

The following businesses operate within the harbour:

The Corporation manages the WM Gunn Marina and Jetty Kiosk, which were officially opened in June 2005.

Norfolk Point provides the public with a view of the harbour and has recently been upgraded with formal and landscaped pedestrian access along Trafalgar Street and table and seating shelters at the Point.

The Harbour was the first in Australia to receive national environmental accreditation from Clean Marinas Australia, a division of the Marina Association
of Australia, for each of its five marinas. East Coast Marina was the first of the Manly marinas to receive accreditation. The Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, Moreton Bay Trailer Boat Club, Wynnum Manly Yacht Club Marina, and the WM Gunn Marina have since followed suit and now all are proudly flying their Clean Marina flags.

The harbour also has two public boat ramps - one on the northern side of the harbour, and one on the southern side. The southern boat ramp has a queuing pontoon.
