Cooperative Research

We work closely with other environmental researchers to increase our understanding of the ecology of the Brisbane River and Moreton Bay ecosystems, and the physical processes such as dredging and dredge material reuse.

Our work with researchers includes co-operative research programmes, commissioned studies, co-funding of programmes and in-kind support for research projects.

Sponsorships and support to government

Over the past seven years we have contributed $75,000 each year towards the running costs of the Moreton Bay Waterways Catchment Partnership and $25,000 to the Healthy Waterways Brisbane River Clean-Up programme.

In 1999 we donated a total of $750,000 to the University of Queensland towards the construction of a new Marine Research Station and Study Centre at Dunwich on North Stradbroke Island.

In 2001,we contributed $175,000 towards the Moreton Bay Sand Extraction Study.
